Working Together
My Approach
It is hard to be a human. I can help you open to the beautiful parts of your life and find new ways of being that feel supportive and fulfilling.
I work with clients of all ages, from children as young as 7 to adults at every stage of life, with a particular love for working with teens, young adults, and adults in the thick of figuring themselves out. With younger clients, I draw on play and art therapy, meeting kids in the language that comes most naturally to them. With older clients, I do deep, exploratory work that goes beyond symptom management.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and the kind of general life malaise that is hard to name but impossible to ignore (some might call it "meh"). If something feels off and you can't quite put your finger on it, or you can put your finger on it and it's been there way too long, I would love to help you figure out why, and what to do about it.
My approach is integrative and rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which is a fancy way of saying I'm interested in the whole person, not just the presenting problem. I'm warm and direct, I don't take myself too seriously, and I believe that while some pain in life is unavoidable, suffering doesn't have to be the whole story. Whatever you bring into this work, I'll receive it without judgment and walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.
We are built to heal together, and we don’t have to do this alone. It is my great honor to lovingly hold whatever it is you bring into this work with you.
Possible Areas of Focus
Anxiety
Anxiety has a way of making the world feel smaller than it actually is. It shows up in the body, in our thoughts, in the stories we tell ourselves about what might go wrong. My work with anxiety is not just about managing symptoms, though that matters too. It is about understanding what your anxiety is trying to tell you, where it comes from, and what it might be protecting. Together we will slow down, get curious, and help you build a different relationship with the fear so that it no longer has to run the show.
Self-Esteem
The way we talk to ourselves is everything. I say this to my clients all the time because I truly believe it. That quiet inner voice running in the background of your day shapes how you feel, how you see yourself, and how you move through the world in ways that are easy to underestimate. And low self-esteem is rarely just about confidence. It is often something much deeper, rooted in early experiences and long-held beliefs about our worth. And the way we internalize those beliefs, the things we tell ourselves day after day, shapes how we feel about ourselves over time. The good news is that voice is not fixed. With time and practice, we can change it. The shifts might feel small at first, but I have seen the way they compound over time into something truly transformative.
Pregnancy
(Prenatal & Postnatal)
The transition into parenthood is one of the most profound and complex experiences a person can go through. Whether you are navigating the emotional landscape of pregnancy, adjusting to life after birth, processing a difficult delivery, or finding yourself somewhere you did not expect to be emotionally, this is a time that deserves real support. I hold this work with particular tenderness, knowing that so much is asked of people during this season of life and that asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do for yourself and your family.
The First Session
The first session is not about fixing anything. It is not a test, and there is no way to do it wrong. It’s a chance for us to begin getting to know each other, and for me to start understanding who you are, what has brought you here, and what you are hoping for.
I will ask you some questions covering a bit of background, some history, and what is going on in your life right now. But I am not running through a checklist. You do not need to have perfectly articulated answers; we’re just beginning to open the door.
You are in charge of how much you share, in the first session and in every session. You do not have to go to the hard places before you are ready. In fact, I believe it is important to build a safe relationship before exploring the most challenging or painful things, and I will never rush that process. If you do feel rushed, I always welcome that feedback.
The first session is not just me evaluating you. It is also you evaluating me. Your instincts matter, and a good therapeutic fit is one of the most important ingredients in successful therapy. Please ask me anything that would help you feel more informed and at ease.
I welcome you to come as you are. Sometimes people come in knowing exactly what they want to work on. Sometimes they just know something is not right and cannot quite name it yet. Both are completely valid starting points, and we’ll figure out the direction together!
FAQs
-
Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. Feel free to reach out through the contact form on this site to book a free consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
-
That is a great question and one I take seriously. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can get a sense of each other before committing to working together. If something feels right, it probably is. If it doesn’t that’s important information too, and I would rather you find the right fit than stay somewhere that does not feel like one.
-
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for prospective clients. It is a low pressure opportunity to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see whether this feels like the right fit.

I currently offer virtual sessions only, via a secure and HIPAA-compliant video platform. Many clients find that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person work, and it offers a lot of flexibility and convenience. If you need in-person, reach out and we can explore options.

I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments are subject to a cancellation fee of $150. Life happens, and I try to be understanding, but consistent attendance is an important part of the therapeutic process.

My fee is $200 per session. I also have a limited number of sliding scale spots available for clients who need reduced fees. Please reach out to discuss whether this might be available for you.

I do accept a limited number of insurance clients through the Grow Therapy platform. Availability varies, so if you are interested in using your insurance, the best way to check is to visit my Grow Therapy profile directly to see current availability and accepted plans.
If I do not have availability for your insurance or am not paneled with your provider, I am happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Yes, on a limited basis. I believe therapy should be accessible and I do my best to work with clients who are facing financial constraints. Please reach out to have an honest conversation about fees.

I use Ivy Pay, a secure and HIPAA-compliant payment platform that makes the payment process simple. Ivy Pay accepts all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, as well as HSA and FSA cards. Upon your first payment you will receive a secure text link to save your card on file, and from there payments are processed automatically so you never have to worry about it at the end of a session.

That depends on you and what you are working toward. I am not a short term therapist by nature. The kind of deep, exploratory work I do takes time, and I work best with clients who are open to a longer arc of treatment, generally six months or more. That does not mean therapy forever, but meaningful change rarely happens in a handful of sessions. We will check in regularly about how things are going and whether our work together continues to feel useful.
-
Most clients start by meeting weekly, which I generally recommend, especially at the beginning of our work together. As things progress, some clients move to every other week, or eventually monthly. We will figure out the right rhythm together.
-
My approach is integrative, rooted in psychodynamic therapy and influenced by client-centered, somatic, and positive psychology. In plain terms, that means I am interested in the whole person, not just the presenting symptoms. I pay attention to patterns, history, the therapeutic relationship, and the connection between mind and body. I tailor my approach to each individual client rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
-
Occasionally, but not in the way you might expect. I am not going to hand you worksheets or ask you to track your thoughts in a log every week unless that genuinely appeals to you. What I am more likely to do is suggest something that grows organically out of what we explored together, maybe a journaling prompt, a meditation, a movement practice, or simply an invitation to notice something in your daily life.
-
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few important legal exceptions. I am required by law to break confidentiality if there is a risk of imminent harm to yourself or others, if there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or if I receive a court order. Outside of those circumstances, nothing you share leaves the room without your written consent.
-
As mentioned above, the limits include imminent risk of harm, mandated reporting of abuse or neglect, and court orders. I will always discuss confidentiality with you in our first session so you feel fully informed.
-
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis between sessions, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. You can also go to your nearest emergency room or call 911. I am not available for crisis support between sessions, and I want to make sure you have the right resources if something urgent comes up.
-
Yes. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. My virtual practice is primarily focused on adults, but I do have experience working with younger clients and incorporate play and art therapy modalities when working with children and teens. If you are interested in therapy services for your child in-person, please let me know and we can discuss options.

I work best with teens and adults who are curious about themselves, open to deep exploratory work, and navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, identity, or relational difficulties. I also work with children and adolescents. I love working with clients who are ready to go beyond symptom management and do the real work of understanding themselves more fully.
